South Forsyth softball jumped in front early and never looked back in route to a 7-3 victory Thursday at North Forsyth in a Region 6-AAAAAA game. Bianca Mora led the Lady War Eagles going 2-for-4 with two RBIs, Emily Harris went 2-for-4 with an RBI, Natalie Strandquist went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and Meghan Rud went 1-for-2 with an RBI and two stolen bases. Katherine Huey allowed six hits, four walks and three earned runs while striking out six in six innings to earn the win. Sydner Turner led North going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Breena Gwaltney was 1-for-4 with two RBIs and Jenna Zirlott went 2-for-3 with a stolen base. Lambert 5, West Forsyth 2: The Lady Longhorns used a 4-run fifth inning and a great game by Kassie Howard to earn a Region 6-AAAAAA victory on the road. Howard struck out a school-record 12 over seven innings allowing just three hits and one earned run for Lambert (10-1). She also helped herself at the plate going 3-for-3 with two RBIs.
