Keep Forsyth County Beautiful invites residents to the semiannual electronics recycling event Saturday.Old devices and equipment can be dropped off from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the “E-Recycle” site at the Cumming Fairgrounds’ parking lot 3 on Castleberry Road.Accepted items for recycling include laptops, stereos, compact disc players, cell phones, microwaves, cameras and more. The minimum donation per carload drop-off is $5, and an additional $10 fee will apply for all televisions. Some items — large wooden console TVs, toaster ovens, projector TVs and refrigerators — will not be accepted during the event.“We are very proud to offer this event to the community,” said Tammy Wright, environmental program manager. “By recycling their old electronics, residents can remove clutter from their homes while making a difference in the environment at the same time.”Last fall’s event set a record, tallying more than 46,000 pounds dropped off by more than 300 vehicles. For more than a year, the Tolbert Street Center has also accepted electronics for recycling year round, which Wright has said could bring the event collection totals down.
