A 26-year-old man was arrested Thursday after he allegedly shot and injured his friend with a pellet gun. Michael Bolin has been charged with aggravated battery for the use of weapon with intent to cause harm, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies responded to Bolin’s home on Dr. Bramblett Road about 3:45 a.m. for a report of a person shot call, sheriff’s spokesman Doug Rainwater said. Bolin initially reported that he heard shots from inside the home while his wife walked outside with his 26-year-old friend.“Once they got to the precinct, it was uncovered that the husband shot [the man] with the pellet gun,” Rainwater said. His wife, Miriam Bolin, was charged with obstruction for not cooperating initially with the investigation.“She naturally lied about who shot [the man],” Rainwater said. “She’s scared, so she told the deputies that somebody randomly shot [him], but she knew the whole time it was her husband.” The man, who was shot in the abdomen, was taken to North Fulton Hospital. Rainwater said his injuries were not severe. According to the incident report, the three had “consumed many alcoholic beverages” prior to the shooting. Rainwater said the charge elevated to the level of battery because the weapon was used with intent to harm and caused injury.
