The high school basketball careers for 13 Forsyth seniors are not quite over after being selected to the XL212 Beyond Winning All-Star Classic. Six girl and seven boy players from the county were selected to participate in the inaugural event to be held March 15 at Blessed Trinity. Forsyth Central’s Kayla Bennett and Emma Kane, Lambert’s Kelsey Morkem, North Forsyth’s Avery Scarbrough and Kendall Bennett and South Forsyth’s Ashley Hannan will play on the girls’ North team. On the boys’ North team will be Forsyth Central’s Jeremiah Jones; Lambert’s Joe Bates, Logan Bush and Trevor Shipes; Pinecrest Academy’s Michael Bruckner; South Forsyth’s Greer Landry; and West Forsyth’s Nick Staiti. Organizers of the All-Star Classic hope to promote players and the game of basketball in North Fulton and Forsyth counties. A banquet will be held March 10 at 7:30 p.m., at the Metropolitan Club in Alpharetta. There will be a skills competition March 14 at 7 p.m., at Blessed Trinity and a combine March 15 at noon at Blessed Trinity that is open to all high school basketball players. Kane was also selected to play in the third annual North Georgia All-Star Basketball Classic on March 29 at Gainesville at 5 p.m.
