CUMMING -- A New York Times bestselling novelist will spend an evening with Forsyth County residents. At 7 p.m. Thursday, the Forsyth County Public Library will present “An Evening with Joshilyn Jackson” at the Lanier Technical College Forsyth Conference Center. Sponsored by the Forsyth County Public Library Friends & Advocates, the evening will serve as the library system’s celebration of National Library Week. Jackson is the author of the six novels, including: “Gods in Alabama;” “The Girl Who Stopped Swimming;” “Backseat Saints” and “A Grown-Up Kind of Pretty.” Most recently, she has written “Someone Else’s Love Story,” which she will discuss during her visit. Jackson’s books have been translated into a dozen languages, won the Southern Independent Book Award’s Novel of the Year recognition, and twice been a No. 1 Book Sense Pick. In addition, Jackson has twice won Georgia Author of the Year recognition and twice been short-listed for the Townsend Prize. After her author talk, guests will have a chance to meet Jackson during a book signing. Barnes and Noble representatives will be on hand to sell copies of her work. Those in attendance are also welcome to bring their own copies to be signed. In preparation of Jackson’s visit, the library system has also held several book club programs.
