A pair of West Forsyth boys’ golfers received some postseason recognition. Wolverines junior Robert Shaw was one of 10 players selected to the Georgia High School Association all-state team for Class AAAAAA, while senior Dru Adams was picked to participate in the GHSGCA Senior All-Star Tournament in Moultrie on May 17-18. Shaw had an impressive season in which he helped lead West to its first state tournament appearance in school history finishing second at the Class AAAAAA Sectionals with a 71. Shaw shot a team-best 75 at the state tournament to finish 11th overall. "Robert had a tremendous season," West head coach Chris Roy said. "He put in a lot of time on his game and is now reaping some benefits from his tremendous work ethic and attitude. I am very proud of Robert and am really looking forward to his senior season." Adams had three top-4 finishes this past season, including third place at the Region 6-AAAAAA tournament and the Forsyth County Championships. "Dru was the first person to play varsity golf at West for all 4 years," Roy said. "He has represented our school, community and team as well as any young person could. I am very proud of Dru’s accomplishments academically and athletically. I will really miss Dru being a part of our team."
