FORSYTH COUNTY — A Forsyth County woman will be featured tonight on a national bridal television show. Chrissy Gregory King will appear in a new episode of TLC’s “Say Yes to the Dress Atlanta,” airing at 9 p.m. The show, a Southern spinoff of “Say Yes to the Dress,” set in New York, features soon-to-be brides from across the country as they shop for their wedding dresses at Bridals by Lori, a discount bridal boutique in Sandy Springs. King said she filled out an online application to appear on the show in September. Within a couple of days, she was asked to come down for an appointment. The 42-year-old said she had been a fan of the show for some time when her now-husband Joe, whom she married June 1, his sisters and mother encouraged her to try for it.  “I went online and they had the application process there, so the next day they contacted me via email and said they were interested,” she said. “I think that was like a Thursday and by the next Tuesday I was in the store.“More than anything, my purpose in trying to get onto the show was to try to tell my story because I have a unique love story, I believe.” She explained that her first husband, Hank Gregory, to whom she had been married for 16 years, passed away after a five-year battle with cancer in July 2011.“When I felt the time was right, I got online and signed up for a dating website, and that’s where I met my future husband,” she said.“The funny thing is he basically has the same story I do. His previous wife had died two months before my husband did, also of cancer, and there were a lot of dates that lined up.“After we dated a little while, we were like this is just meant to be. We felt like God had put us together for a reason and wanted to us to share our testimonies and share that there is hope and there is joy after pain.” King said she is looking forward to viewing her bridal gown search on the program tonight.“I know a lot of my friends and family will be watching too,” she said.“It was interesting and a lot of fun to be on a show that I had watched for a while.”
