Several Forsyth County government departments are seeking gift givers for the holiday season.The fire department and senior services are again accepting donations for annual programs to benefit kids from ages 1 to 92.The county-organized donation drives aim to make the holidays more enjoyable for those who may need some cheer.ToysThe Forsyth County Fire Department will accept toys for children in need for its 10th annual Aerial’s House toy collection.“Thanks to the very generous support of residents and businesses alike, the Aerial’s House toy collection has helped brighten the holiday season for many local children over the years,” said Fire Chief Danny Bowman.“Collecting the toys is something the fire department personnel look forward to every year. It is our honor to serve this community, and we are humbled to be able to help give back to the community in this small way.” New, unwrapped toys for Aerial’s House may be dropped off at Forsyth County fire stations, the fire department’s headquarters, 3520 Settingdown Road, or any of the county’s three library branches. Senior services has set a goal of delivering 4,500 meals to local senior citizens this holiday season. Those interested in participating may choose to provide meals for a day, week, month or year. The cost is $3.48 for one meal, $17.40 for one week, $76.56 for one month and $904.80 for the entire year.
