SOUTH FORSYTH — The Sounds of Sawnee Concert band will present its annual Christmas concert Sunday afternoon at Sexton Hall Enrichment Center.“It is a great repertoire of music, from Christmas classics to some contemporary pieces,” said Pepper Bowe, band member. “[It is] just an all-around good performance and there will be some audience sing-along.” The band contains more than 50 members who range from high school students to retirees.“It is a 20-year-old group … there are actually three members of the band that are original members” Bowe said. “… There are a few who by their profession are professional musicians, but other than that we’re just all volunteers.” Tickets to the event, which starts at 2:30 p.m., are $5 and can be bought in advance over the phone at (770) 781-2178. The center is at 2115 Chloe Road, which is just off Sharon Road between Peachtree Parkway and Old Atlanta Road in south Forsyth.“We just all love doing it for the love of performing and entertaining people,” Bowe said. “It’s a sold-out performance every year.” Those who can’t make Sunday’s concert can catch the band Dec. 14, when it will perform the same songs at the Central Park gym.“There are no presale tickets [for that show], it’s just a walkup and that is $10,” Bowe said.
