NORTH FORSYTH — A recent North Forsyth High School graduate was arrested Thursday night after damaging several mailboxes and other objects while driving through a neighborhood off Jot Em Down Road, authorities said. The Dodge Ram pickup truck apparently struck four mailboxes, a fire hydrant and another vehicle, according to Epifanio Rodriguez, a spokesman for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office. Neither driver was injured in the collision. But as a result, 18-year-old Ethan Lancaster was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, hit and run, failure to report an accident, possession of alcohol by a person under 21 and failure to maintain lane. Deputies responded to calls about 11:30 p.m. Thursday from Woodland View Drive about a truck driving recklessly through the Riverstone Plantation subdivision. Lancaster, who was traveling alone, reportedly headed west, striking “several fixed objects” before turning north onto Stone River Drive. He then, according to an incident report, rear-ended a vehicle before driving away and striking a fire hydrant. According to the Forsyth County school system, Lancaster graduated from North this spring.
