NORTH FORSYTH — Despite the large law enforcement presence created by two separate incidents over the weekend, there was no threat of harm to the public, authorities say. According to Epifanio Rodriguez, a spokesman for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, an incident Sunday that resulted in a visible response involved no fatalities or serious injuries. While the initial call about 4:30 a.m. Sunday mentioned a stabbing, Rodriguez said two men suffered superficial cuts during an argument off Friendship Circle in north Forsyth. The men — one from Dawsonville and the other from Dahlonega — do not live together, nor do they live at the home where the incident occurred, Rodriguez said. One man, who was taken to Northside Hospital-Forsyth, appeared to have a self-inflicted laceration to his abdomen. The other had a cut to his neck. Neither was life threatening. Due to the high-levels of intoxication in both men, their uncooperative nature and conflicting stories, no arrests were made. Rodriguez said neither man wanted to press charges, though an investigation will continue. The other incident involved a missing Gainesville woman who was found dead Saturday morning in a vehicle off Little Mill Road. Rodriguez said the woman had been reported missing and died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. An official cause of death will be determined by an autopsy performed by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. The Georgia State Patrol requested a helicopter search the area northeast of Cumming, initiating a law enforcement presence that began near Pilgrim Mill Road. Forsyth Sheriff’s deputies found the vehicle after working with Gainesville police and the state patrol, Rodriguez said.
