WEST FORSYTH -- A man who reportedly held up a pharmacy for prescription medications donned in a blue wig in west Forsyth in October has been indicted by a Forsyth County grand jury. Michael Steven Patton, 46 of Cumming, faces six counts, according to a Nov. 14 indictment report, including armed robbery and aggravated assault for reportedly entering the Bethelview Pharmacy at 5610 Bethelview Road on Oct. 12, producing a handgun and “requested Xanax and Testosterone.” After leaving with an undisclosed amount of drugs at about 8 p.m., he was pulled over in the vehicle in which he drove away at about 10:45 p.m. He also faces charges of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of Testosterone and Alprazolam. Detectives used witness descriptions of him and in-store video surveillance footage to track him down, including an observation that he has a “large, unique tattoo on the back of [his] head.” On Oct. 12, deputies located a vehicle registered to Patton in front of his residents, where they initiated a traffic stop and subsequently took him into custody. Patton was arrested in Forsyth at the beginning September, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office previously told the Forsyth County News, for felony possession of a firearm. He was booked into the Forsyth County jail without bond. Forsyth County Superior Court Judge Philip C. Smith is presiding over the case. No trial date has been set.
