CUMMING — Observant neighbors are being credited for helping Forsyth County Sheriff’s deputies thwart a residential burglary Wednesday afternoon. According to the sheriff’s office, Jason Robinson and Melissa McCutcheon, both of Forsyth County were arrested after they reportedly broke into two cars and a home on Eagle Creek Trail near Bald Ridge Marina Road. The two stole a “go cart and other items,” according to Robin Regan, spokesman for the sheriff’s office.“Neighbors called the sheriff’s office and when deputies responded, Robinson fled through the woods, across [nearby] Market Place [Boulevard] and into a medical center parking lot,” Regan said.“Deputies saturated the area very quickly and had him completely surrounded within a couple minutes.” According to Regan, McCutcheon was arrested quickly and the deputies on foot were able to keep an eye on Robinson, who was found hiding under a vehicle in the parking lot. Robinson has been charged with burglary, theft of an automobile and entering auto. He also faces a probation violation and contempt of Superior Court charge. McCutcheon was charged with burglary and two counts of entering auto. As of Thursday afternoon, both suspects remained at the Forsyth County Detention Center.
