PREP ROUNDUP: Allen's three goals lift Forsyth Central boys lacrosse

BOYS LACROSSE Forsyth Central 6, Riverside Military 2 GAINESVILLE – Joshua Allen scored three goals and the Bulldogs cruised to an Area 3-AAAAA/A victory Tuesday on the road in their season-opener. Ryan Wilkins added two goals for Central (1-0, 1-0), while Christian Neubert scored a goal. Grant Allen and Wes Bacastow each had an assist. Bulldogs goalie Cohen Holton had eight saves. GIRLS SOCCER Lambert 1, Brookwood 0 Maddie Edelman scored the only goal the Lady Longhorns needed in a non-region win Tuesday at home. Lambert (2-1-0) out-shot Brookwood, 15-7. Emily Haugen and Lauren Hong each had an assist on Edelman’s goal. North Forsyth 1, Lanier 0 (OT) Tiffany Raygor scored in the second overtime to lift the Lady Raiders to a non-region win Tuesday at home. Raygor scored with three minutes left to help North (4-1-0) win its second straight. Sydney Miller had the assist. South Forsyth 2, North Gwinnett 1 Mary Lichtenwalner and Allie Norton each had goals to help the No. 10-ranked Lady War Eagles (3-0-0) to a non-region win Tuesday at home. BOYS SOCCER Brookwood 2, Lambert 1 Despite leading at halftime, the No. 4-ranked Longhorns couldn’t hold off the defending Class AAAAAA champion Broncos in a non-region loss Tuesday at home. Eoin Griffiths gave Lambert (2-1-0) a 1-0 halftime lead on a goal assisted by Matt Elliott. But No. 1-ranked Brookwood struck for two goals in the second half to snatch the victory. North Gwinnett 5, South Forsyth 1 Owen Christiansen scored the lone goal for the War Eagles (0-3-0) in a non-region loss Tuesday at home.
